Birthday!!!

It's my Birthday tomorrow and it will be spent having breakfast with mum, then meeting the kitchen installers and planting some bulbs on the building site.

The best thing EVER though is that we now live a very monastic lifestyle, no books, no magazines or newspapers as it's so dusty.

I got my grubby mitts on a new piece of kit from BH [better Half] very nice hubby!

Amazon Kindle arrived by post last night, BH set it up and got a book within 20 seconds!

I now have the envious looks from strangers on the train, it's so slim the handbag is smaller and it holds 3500 books! Yipeeeee!!!!

OK back to the house, it's rained non stop today so I reckon not much has been done will post an update later!!!!

We always have a sand pit for us to play in!!

The side return is being dug up, our defences are down, paving slabs are up. Looks big!
The stud wall with soundproofing boards are up separting the new lounge from our downstairs parlour room/powder room/facilities!

Where the washing machine is now will be the downstairs throne!

Plenty of 211s here!

OMG the window is gone!!!

All bricked up to ensure extra support for the external wall. Looks so strange!

Pictures of progress...

This is the new kitchen doorway! BH keeps walking straight past!
We lost the kettle and worksurfaces yesterday as the room is stripped back to nada!

Also had the builder round at 10.45pm to reinstate the boiler after discovering there was no hot water!

Thank god for that as we did not need a cold shower this AM!

The cooker and all these units are now gone!

Residing in the back yard-not a garden anymore looks like a builders yard!
:-(

Doors, Glass...

Well just a wee update, Barn Glass visited the site to ensure we get our 4 panel bi-fold doors made within 6 week time frame.

They will be coming on site to install the doors which are bespoke and revisiting the site for the orangery style roof we are having installed!

Pictures of the lounge and Old Kitchen Distruction!!!

The walls are down, the supports are out and the steel is in 2 weeks later. The soundproofed wall between the old kitchen and dining room is also up!

No more words just pictures...

Back of the lounge before and after, kitchen is now hidden!!!!

The fridge freezer is in the hallway stuck too big to move through the doorsways in the box. So need to take it out and pop it back in today and store in the front till required...

Chandeliers have arrived too!!! Look divine!!

Walls are down!

OK As I type this I am in a state of hysterical excitement. I don't want to go to my meetings or talk about content anymore I want to see the results!

This morning I was told the wall between the front room and old dining room won't come down until Tuesday :-(

Alas it's down and there is light and space, a new chimney opening and loads of ruble. Excitement for my feelings right now is an understatement.

BH is still banging on about another L sofa which I think is too cluttered and modern. I know the sofa I want just need to work my magic or have a hiss strop fit.

The Amtico floor is going to be ripped up and the original timber from the back lounge will be relocated to the old dining area...

Slowly easing in...

OK so we are getting in to the beginning of the build slowly... it's taken three days just to get the equipment in - not very exciting. And I am sure the builder is doing the usual annoying thing and running two jobs at once.

We spent Sunday clearing the lounge, the previous week we were relieved of the dining set and wine rack, prompt purchaser on eBay came and dismantled everything the day bidding ended.

Our very nice neighbours are storing the huge L sofa, coffee table and massage chair. How nice is that?!!!

Lovely family, and we had a great dinner with them on Saturday night, we are hoping to pop round on a regular basis whilst the build progresses!

I will take some photos and post the progress of the soon to be "proper" building site.

The most exciting thing to happen is Stellious taking down the curtains from a company called Neat Pleats!

The skip is here so all the rubbish BH was collecting in the cellar is out...
