Kitchen Lighting

OK so I dragged BH up to Peter Jones/John Lewis in Kings Road London a few weeks ago to look at the lights. He loves everything I have chosen!!!

Above the island in the kitchen as the units are very modern and it's a Victorian house I am going for two of these pendant chandeliers! I have waited until the sale and lo and behold they are not on sale!!!!! grrrrrrr

Still getting them!

Bit of DIY Junk Dresser to Bling Boudoir!

Fab Welsh Dresser bought on eBay for £19 including delivery after searching yonks for exact dimensions for this wall in the bathroom. This has pride of place in the Victorian Style bathroom/boudoir alongside Victorian, sink, toilet and cast iron roll top bath.
This was originally dark wood in grubby condition with stuck on wall paper!
I whitewashed and distressed it then fancied a change. So I blinged it up with silver paint!!
Great storage solution, and for displaying trinkets!

Paint Colours

Ok loving Cooking Apple Green by Farrow & Ball but its so overpriced and I just read this article in the times so finding a cheaper and good quality alternative.
http://property.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/property/article7118038.ece

So I have matched it closely to Soft Moss 3 from Dulux and that's what we are going for in the Kitchen.

Now for the lounge it's north facing so a warm colour is needed. Coral Canyon 3 and Autumn Fern 3 or Spicy Sandalwood 6 very cosy!

The Jungle

I found some lovely pictures of the garden and though it would be good to post them on here! The garden is 95ft long...
This view is from the French Doors in the lounge which you couldn't even open properly!

This view is from we would now refer to as the top patio! Totally overgrown!
This view is arial from the guest bedroom, nice view eh?

This is fondly the side return passage, with tons of creepers, ivy and creepy crawlies! After we removed the lot the fence collapsed in a light wind! Obviously had been holding everything up. Every time you opened the kitchen door tons of bugs would fly in. Nightmare!

Now for the start of something beautiful... new fencing along both dies, two new tiered patios, decking area Statue a humble shed and bench under the trees!

Killing back and dreaming

Ok so I have taken two extra days off to clear the cellar, in hope that we can store kitchen equipment and ornaments/paintings down there whilst the building work is going on.

OMG the cellar is HUGE and I am only clearing half of it! I think the previous owner was some kind of hobbit DIY'er as there is so much building junk.

Cleaned the washing machine, desk, and tv to donate to British Heart Foundation. Defrosted the fridge also going!

Found old curtains, rugs, books, all the books which can be salvaged go to charity with the curtains and clothes. Do a quick run round the corner and then wash the car it's filthy. Soon I will be woman with a white van! Need one!

Went to Shannon's Garden centre after they said help yourself to pallets, This is to put in the cellar to prevent items being damaged by damp. The do not fit in the car! It's so annoying!

Find pile of BH's medical books, tons have rotten and have wood louse nice! Save half dump the rest after begging bin men to take more rubbish yay!

Having a quick rest - well it is my holiday! Spotted lovely sofa online and fab fabric, sold the navy leather one it's being collected this weekend!

Decided on decor for the kitchen,
Units
Cream high gloss units
Worktops
Titanium Granite work tops
Floor
Cappuccino marble tiles
Walls
3 walls in Cooking Apple Green from Farrow & Ball http://www.farrow-ball.com/productdetails.aspx?pid=0032CG&cid=PC&language=en-GB
Pelham Sanderson Wallpaper behind dining table
http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/products/sanderson/pelham/40385
Ruby red splash back in glass RAL 3004 for behind hob and sink facing the window.
Lighting
Now the lighting is annoying, sold the fisherman ones and want to get something ultra glam and adult. So getting three of these Chandeliers to sit above the Kitchen island.
And two Glass Scroll wall lights for the dining area. http://www.johnlewis.com/230472075/Product.aspx
Doors
Bifold 3.5m run of glass!

Sorted! haha just need to convince BH!

eBay to the recue, recyle, upcycling or plain donate??!!

I had some local ladies come over to cast their eyes over the things we need to shift. Recycle, donate, "one man's junk is another man's treasure"...

Anyway these ladies were more interested in admiring my garden [very chuffed] and finding out what arty occupation I have. I wish I had taken a picture pure dismay when I said media sales. I want to be an arty type honestly!

Right we are getting rid of original Victorian stripped french doors, shabby chic dinning table and 6 chairs, computer table, fridge, freezer, kitchen units, sofa, washing machine, gosh amazing how much one accumulates in such a short time!

I have listed all on eBay and I hope someone relieves me of the contents!
